Purpose of the Role
The primary aim of the Project Coordinator is to control and manage projects within Investment Delivery. This involves ensuring compliance with Johannesburg Water (JW) and City of Johannesburg (COJ) regulations, as well as promoting the effective and sustainable execution of the JW Capital Programme.
Key Responsibilities
Project Inventory and Reporting
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all projects.
- Consolidate accurate and consistent reports to track project performance.
- Facilitate Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) applications and oversee the work of environmental consultants.
Coordination and Monitoring
- Monitor activities of learnership contractors and COJ EPWP personnel, ensuring timely reporting of Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) statistics.
- Assist in identifying projects suitable for learner contractors.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of business plans and ensure adequate resources are allocated for projects.
Project Management Support
- Provide assistance to Investment Managers and Project Engineers with SAP systems and other project management tools.
- Ensure smooth workflow for consultant and contractor fee certificates while adhering to legislative requirements.
- Establish standardized templates and best practices for project monitoring and reporting.
Resource and Budget Management
- Supervise and guide subordinates in their work activities.
- Plan, manage, and monitor budgets effectively.
- Prepare comprehensive manuals and standard operating procedures for new Capital Expenditure (CapEx) employees.
